 Birth is not a choice.

Death is not a choice.
But the life in between
is nothing but choice.

We do not choose when we are born,
and we do not choose when we die.

Yet every moment between those two points,
we are choosing—
what to react to,
what to invest our energy in,
and where to stop.

I used to believe that peace required stable conditions.
That problems had to be solved first.
That people needed to soften.
That life had to be organized
before my heart could rest.

But life taught me otherwise.

The order was almost always reversed.

Peace does not come from circumstances.
It comes from what I choose.

The same situation can exist,
yet when I choose peace,
the shaking lessens.

When I choose noise,
peace disappears first.

Choice by choice,
these decisions shape
the state of the mind.

That is when I began to understand:

Peace is not something given.
It is an attitude I decide to protect.

Life did not need to become perfect.

When I set emotional boundaries,
directed energy only where it was needed,
and released unnecessary connections—
peace emerged.

Life remained the same.
But my inner standard changed.
And that standard held me.

In the end,
peace was not an external condition.

It was the inner order
I chose to maintain
between Birth and Death.
